Covid-19 Fundraiser – The Disabled Need Your Help
Covid-19 Fundraiser – The Disabled Need Your Help
Cheshire Disability Trust (CDT) was started in the year 2011, to create an inclusive society. Our mission is to enable Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) to improve their quality of life. We do this by providing livelihood opportunities to PWDs primarily in Bangalore but also support livelihood programs in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and other locations.
CDT would like to extend a helping hand to the disabled candidates living in rural areas. They are unable to fend for themselves due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Our goal is to distribute essentials to them such as groceries, masks, and hand sanitizers.
Additionally, while the government has made a lot of materials for spreading awareness on the pandemic and how to handle it – how the virus spreads, how to stay safe, techniques of staying safe, and so on – most PWDs do not have access to this information or have difficulty in understanding it. We want to bridge the gap by making information available and understood by everyone. We will play the role of a mediator by taking responsibility for spreading awareness about this.
Cost of the project: Rs.5,00,000/- per month
Our aim is to reach out to 500 disabled persons in the Bangalore urban and rural regions.
Cost per PWD per month is Rs.1000/-
Break up of cost per person is :
Grocery kit costs Rs.600/-
Cost for Mask Rs.30/-
Cost for sanitizer Rs.110/-
Cost towards creating awareness, counselling PWDs, transportation and supporting material: Rs.260/-
We need your support to reach out to PWDs during the pandemic and make help them make it through the lockdown and economic slowdown.
